Cleaning
First of all your records will
be cleaned by hand with specialist cleaning solution.
This removes dirt and dust, which has made its
way deep into the grooves.
Your records are then dried and
wiped with a carbon fiber brush to neutralize
any static.
Playing
The record is now placed on a
professional turntable which is connected directly
to a computer.
Recording
The record is then played while
the software is recording. When the record has
finished, the recording software is stopped and
a data file of the record is saved.
The data is then run through some
other software to minimize hissing and crackles.
The file is then saved again and taken into another
piece of software to adjust the bass and treble
levels to maximize quality.
The end product
The cleaned-up data file is now
ready to be burned to a CD as an audio track or
an MP3.
