Why would I want to pay money for music I already have?

These days vinyl records are very rare, and in most cases are actually increasing in value. The best way to care for vinyl LP's is not to play them at all. So if you send them to us they will get played once on professional equipment, and then copied on to CD so you can listen to your music as much as you want without de-valuing the vinyl LP. Plus most stereo equipment is now sold without a turntable, so having your favorite songs on CD will allow you to play them any where, even in your car.

Can you do more than one copy of each record?

No. Due to copyright laws we can only do one copy of each record or cassette you send us, and this must be for you.

What is an MP3?

MP3 is a music file that can be played on your PC, Apple Mac, MP3 player and some DVD players.

Do I get a discount if I send you more than one record to be transferred?

Yes. Please see our pricing page for details.

Do you copy cassettes to CD, and if so how much does it cost?

Yes we do copy cassettes to CD. One cassette costs the same as one record. See our pricing page for details.

My record is all scratched and jumps, will this affect the copy?

Yes unfortunately it will. As the record needs to played to be recorded into the computer, if it jumps this will be recorded on to the CD. The cleaning and noise reduction processes we do for all records can help a lot but if the record is scratched deep enough to make the needle jump we cannot do anything about that.

Do you do 78rpm records?

No, only 33 and 45. There is not much call for 78 records to be converted, as most people own them for their value, not because they like the music that's on them. However, if you have a large amount of 78's you would like converted please contact us to discuss the possibility.

Will my records be safe in the post?

We have posted lots of records with no problems. You can buy special cardboard envelopes designed to protect records in the post. These can be bought from most shops that sell vinyl records. If you cannot find any of these envelopes contact us and we will send you some through the post. If your record is especially rare and valuable you may want to insure its postage, as we cannot be held responsible for records that are lost or damaged in the post.

How long will it be before I get my records back?

It depends on how many you send us. 1 - 5 records will normally be done within 5 working days. We will keep you informed at all times.

Will the CD you return have a label and case?

The CD will have a basic text label with the track names and CD title. We cannot copy any record sleeves as they are copyrighted. The CD will be returned in a plastic sleeve not a jewel case. This because it is not a good idea to post a record with anything that is not flat as it may put pressure on the record and damage it.

Will any CD player play the CDR's you record on to?

There are a small number of older CD players that will not play the CDR's we use. Most CD players bought within the last 5 years will play CDR's with no problem. If you're not sure, try playing a CDR in your CD player. Even a data disk will produce a sound.

If you're unsure about compatibility, please do not go ahead with a copy as we cannot be held responsible for any incompatibility with individual CD players.

How much do you charge to return the records and CD's?

Recorded postage within the UK is included in the price. If you would like the record insured that will be extra.
